Dan gulino #25

Why do I procrastinate so much? High School taught me to outline my work, revise, do another draft, etc. Most of my writing is done without the use of an outline, I find it easier to sit down and let my mind and my fingers flow. This has always been my method; most of my writing, especially in high school, was done in class with a time limit. But of course I never gave myself ample time to write, I wouldn’t dare pick up a pen at least three days before an assignment was due. Preparation was usually set for larger projects that required much research and organization. The idea of writing and rewriting drafts reflects a kind of self-respect for ones work, so that it can be something to be proud of. I should probably get some self-respect for my work, and revise my final outputs.

Getting out of pink collared jobs

This summer I’m trying to either work or volunteer at a summer day care at my elementary school. I graduated from the day care when I was a kid and I loved it. A lot of my friends asked me why I would even want to take the job since it would probably be minimum wage. My pink colored jobs paid much better. My reasoning would be that time would go by faster if it was a job that I loved rather than a job that I hate. Even though it was minimum wage, at least I would be enjoying my job and I would look forward to coming into work each day. I was really contemplating on working at Starbucks in the summer since I know how to make coffee drinks already and I might have to resort to that option if I’m not teaching.

I don’t mind working pink collared jobs as a college student because the pay is decent and it’s usually seasonal work. After I graduate, I hope to get out of pink collared jobs and eventually have a salaried job. I think that the experience is very valuable because it does make you appreciate pink collared workers a lot. I find myself being more polite to those who work in the food industry and in retail. I know it’s a pain when you have to deal with rude customers and I don’t want to add on to their stress. In this economy, companies want college degrees for jobs that only need a high school education. So does that mean that pink collared jobs would eventually require a college degree? I hope that would never happen.

Phone device apps

Currently working on figuring some of the phone apps that we found during class. Remote Web Desktop has a bunch of apps some currently on beta which provides with a bunch of ideas such as the webcam which I have yet to test due to my outdated android operating system. Here's an example of one app that's available using Remote Web Desktop. A phone screen capture like the print screen key on the pc.
