My birthday was a few days ago, and I'm now twenty years old. The birthday made me ponder my teenage years which passed by so fast. It doesn't feel too long ago that I was being wished a happy thirteenth birthday. The amount of change and things that happened to me in a span of seven years is breathtaking. If I could go back in time though, I would do my teenage years over the same exact way. I had a great time as a kid, and luckily made it out of my teens alive. Hopefully I can take what i've learned as a young adult and apply it to positive things in the future for my up and coming years.

Here's a picture of a banner on campus that says Stony Brook is top 1% of Universities in the World. How is this measured. Surely, its top 1% research universities in the world. What categories is Stony Brook measuring itself on to give itself recognition like this? Regardless, its on campus hanging near the Administration building.

I have always had very poor eyesight. However, I am yet to find someone in my high school or college days that has worse eyesight than myself. Without eyeglasses or my contact lenses I wouldn't have a chance to get through a day productively. If i were to attempt to drive a car without my corrective lenses, I wouldn't have a prayer to make it to where I needed to go without crashing. I am a -9.00 prescription in both eyes, and am nearly legally blind. Here's the box of my contact lense case to prove it.

It’s getting to be summer now, and I’m heading back home to upstate NY. One of my favorite redneck pastimes is shooting guns. Here’s a picture of me with my first gun that my cousin bought for me. Millions and millions of American’s own guns, and it is a multi-million dollar market. The overwhelming population of city slickers doesn’t enjoy the same past times as me here at Stony Brook University.

HBO now offers HBO GO for anyone subscribed to HBO. HBO GO is a application for smart phones that allows users to view any HBO production, along with many movies at any time. I’m getting the app on my phone soon, and you should too if you or your parents have a HBO subscription.

Donald Trump dropped out of the presidential race, and I was really disappointed. I really thought my first presidential vote would go out to Donald. Later in the day I stumbled upon this comic, and had a good laugh. Enjoy.

Later this week my cousin who I am very close with is getting married. It just makes me ponder the institution of marriage, and what my inner thoughts are on it. Sometimes I can’t help but think society is growing out of traditional marriage. Signing oneself over to another person legally for the rest of your life is a huge commitment that not many people can afford to take in today’s day and age. What if marriage just had a contract length. Say for 10, 15, or 20 years? Once the marriage is over, the couple can choose to renew, or terminate, with no legal fee’s. Lawyers would surely not be happy about this.

Reaction to the show @ The Tank

Although I was disappointed the connect didn’t work, I felt that the actors really stepped up and tried their best to make the show as good as possible. Some of the stories were a little boring, and pointless, while others were so real, and filled with substance. Also, the singing performance really impressed me.
