Cats and Curses

As I am running out of ideas for blog entries, I think I’ll tell you the story of how I got my pet cat. This story starts with how I lost my old cat to something of a curse. More like shit luck than a curse I guess. It seems that every time my family goes on vacation, which is not often, one of our pets dies while we are away. I’m not sure if it’s due to poor timing, or irresponsible pet sitters, but during our second most recent vacation (which was actually like four years ago) both our cat and our dog died within a week of each other. The dog had to be put down by our grandparents who were house sitting, and the cat died few days after our return. Our next cat found us by chance. He started out as a stray that would visit us from time to time and eventually was welcomed into our house, remaining primarily an outdoor cat. Well a few days before we were scheduled to leave for our latest vacation, this past summer, this cat became ill. My sister stayed behind to look after him, take him to the vet, and aid his recovery. But there was no saving him. On the night we were driving back home my sister called me to say that she had found a new kitten and didn’t know how to tell our father. Well we got home at around midnight and I came in the door all ready to be angry with my sister for getting a new cat so soon without asking us. But when I got in, what I found was a tiny little kitten far to small and cute to be angry around. Next time we go on vacatoin, we’ll take the cat with us.

Spring Break

Spring break is way too far away. Its only been a month since we started school and me and my friends are already planning our trip on where we are going to go. Last year, we took a trip to vermont to a place called "Okemo Mountain" to do some skiing and we had a blast. We took a roadtrip up that took about 6 hours but it was worth the ride. Once we got there, we snowboarded every day and woud hit the jacuzzi at night. It was deffently the place to get away for the week and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a good time. The rental houses are not expensive at all and the place we stayed at was ski-in ski-out, which means you can ski right onto the mountain from your house. The other cool thing is that their always having events going on that are free to watch. Last year, they were hosting a half pipe competition and we grab a few hot cholocates and sat there for a few hours watching.

I think we all agreed that were going in the opposite direction this year. I would love to go back to Sanibel Island in florida. It is one of the most amazing places ive ever been to and theres soo much to do on the island. The beaches are beautiful and the food is amazing. The cool thing is that most of the restaurants are right on the beach so you can actually sit on the beach and eat dinner as the sun sets. The last time i was here was 2 years ago so id love to take a trip back there andshow my friends around. Wherever we go, I know we'll have a good time because were not at school. Everyone needs a break from reality and spring break is my time to go.
