THe degradation of our kind
As I walk around, grow up, and observe the people around me, I realize that the people are evolving...in the opposite direction. I'm pretty sure that all of you realize this too. The shows are becoming less intellectual, the music is becoming less creative and our idols are just a joke who promote the worst in humanity. This is why I was becoming so antisocial while growing up. I had no interest in many of subjects that people of my age would talk about or watch and I refused to become a part of it.
There was, however, a time in my life where I was becoming part of the crowd. It was hard not when all this garbage was surrounding me and I knew of nothing else. There was a savior in my life and he doesn't come in the form of a person. It was a movie called "The school of rock". Why was this comedy movie my savior? This movie introduced me to classic rock where I realized that music took actual talent to produce. I heard a lot more creative and interesting sounds then I had ever heard with rap or pop. After this movie, I completely disregarded the music of my time and ventured back into the 70's and 80's where I heard all the good stuff. I heard riffs that would spark some sort of emotion in you, or lyrics that would sometimes make you think about society. This was real music. I didn't just stop with classic rock, I eventually went on to explore almost every genre out there trying to hear more actual music.
But it doesn't just end with music. The shows and movies that people watch have also become a metaphor for society's garbage. Shows like "Jersey Shore" and "Skins", and movies that now focus on popular stars just for the sake of money. I feel like the media just wants to insult our intellect and I can't blame them when it appears that the IQ of America's gene pool is probably dropping.
Why do we allow such insulting media continue to exist? Our kind is now becoming brainwashed and we are degrading as a society. Even the English language is deteriorating in to pure slang and nonsense. There needs to be a change. We need to become as the name of our species suggest: Wise man.
