Charlie Sheen - WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?????

Here is a guy who had everything. Married to Denise Richards, a good career, fame, money and he let drugs and alcohol take over him and control him.

In a way I feel bad. I could never put myself in his shoes or know exactly what caused him to take such drastic measures but he is off on a tangent that is making him seem insane. In two months we will most likely hear a different story.

The media is feeding his addiction. One day he will overdose and everyone will morn him (like they did with Michael Jackson) He does not set a good example to anyone in today's society and I only hope he gets clean before it kills him or that someone else sees what an ass he looks like and decides to stop themselves.

The Wonderful Life of Charlie Sheen

Im normally not one to talk about celebrities. It really doesnt interest me who's dating who what somebodys wearing becuase after all, their just humans like us. However, I've been following the story about Charlie Sheen and i think its halirious. This guy had been all over the news and in the paper for the past couple of weeks. For anyone who doesnt know, Charlie Sheen is an actor that became famous from his role on the show "Two and a Half Men." Renectly, Charlie has been decribed as hitting rock bottom and doing everything from dangerous drugs to ordering strippers in his hotel rooms. They then thought that it would be a good idea to give him rehab that would be held in his own home...good idea. The most recent news is that Charlie challenged the producers of the show to cancel the show because he was bascially being cocky and wanted to show them that acting correctly would be no problem. Just today, they decided to cancel the show.

What amazes me is that this story is everywhere! Ive heard everyone from my boss talking about it to the radio host this morning. I just think that this stuff should be kept on outlets such as E! as thats what their there for. I understand that canceling the show is big news but i dont understand all the talk leading up to it. In the end, It really doesnt effect Charlie that much anyway. While doing the show, he was making a million dollars an episode and is one of the highest paid television actors. In the end, im sure he could care less if he gets to take some time off and relax. Now hes just living the life.

Greg Giraldo Fund Benefit Night

On Wednesday Feb. 9 2011 I attended a benefit for the Greg Giraldo Fund - for children living in families with addiction.

It was a star studded event that included acts by Jerry Seinfeld, Colin Quinn and Lewis Black just to name a few.

When Greg dies of an accidental overdose in the summer of 2010 he left behind his wife and 3 young sons. His wife created this foundation to help children with families of addiction as a way of using his death as a positive influence to help many children who live with parents of addiction.

There was a slide show of Greg performing at various stages in his career and you could see how the drugs took it's toll on him. His younger pictures showed a healthy, vibrant person filled with life and as time passed you saw the drugs take over and create a shell of a man. It was sad to see this great comedian have such a short life because of addiction. His sons came on stage after the performance and I felt so terrible for them, knowing they would now have to live life without their father because of drugs. I hope this foundation can do some good for the 11 million other families, just like his, that face this illness everyday.
