Things I wanna buy

We constantly buy things that we don't need. We know we don't need it but we buy it to make ourselves feel better.

Now that I'm graduating college and getting a job. I made a list of things I want to buy when I get paid.

TV, blackberry, bicycle, suit, dress shoes, and shirts.

It would be interesting if I look back after ten years.

Gas prices suckkkkkk !!!

So, on this lovely morning, i was not only running late but i had to get gas in my car. To add insult to injury...this Sh*t was $71.00 to fill up a freaking V4 engine with regular gasoline. I live about an hour away and i commute daily. I though about it,and if i start walking now, i should be there by tomorrow. Blisters from walking seem so much less painful then paying 71 bucks a week for gas. That is just wrong. I was thinking about those who have to drive around for a living, like cab drivers or salesmen. They must really take a hit. The government really should do something, or else i'm boycotting gas...or moving to canada, its so much nicer there.

A little Encouragement

Music its makes life that much better and it helps me throughout the day. Bad or good day music amplifies it, its not uncommon for me to just blast it until I get a headache or even when I write blogs for some insight and encouragement. It flows through me and it makes my heart beat in. Its what helps me climb out of that bed and walk to class everyday. It blocks out all the bullshit for as long as that battery lasts. It makes me feel like I'm young again and energizes me when I need a little pickup. It helps me angry, sad, happy, excited, encouraged, and everything else you can think of. I feed off of it, it empowers me to be me. The beats flow through my ears to the tips of toes and at that point I know that it has a hold of me and I need more so I turn it up a bit. It helps me go to sleep on those nights where television can't help me. It creates creativity in my mind making a whole new world in my head. It forces me to think outside the box and in 10 dimensions, its a drug I can't get off of, a drug I don't want to get off of. Its so easy to get lost in my headphones, especially with sites like Pandora and even Youtube. Life is good, Music is good and a little encouragement never hurt.

health care / emergency room

I plan on going into the medical field within the next five years, so this issue is pretty close to me. I'm probably I'm not as educated as I should be about the health care system and all of its problems but I try to at least keep up with the main points. A few medical school interviewees have asked me my opinions about the health care system, so that has kind of kept me on my toes.

With regards to the emergency room, I can't say that I blame doctors for rejecting people coverage. (although I think that no one should be denied coverage especially in an emergency room) I personally think that it's the insurance company's fault for allowing that to happen. Insurance companies dont have patient's interest at heart, obviously because they are in an economic relationship with the patient. A sick or even dying patient is not economically beneficial to them, so it's their philosophy that they shouldn't have to pay for procedures at that point.

I really think that insurance companies are to blame. I like the fact that Obama's health care plan put's a lot more responsibility on insurance companies such as not being able to drop patients when they are sick. It's a step in the right direction. I really admire St. Jude's hospital for their policy of not rejecting patients in the emergency room. I'm not sure how they are able to work that out but it shows that it's capable of being done. So I think that more hospitals should move towards that direction. I hope that when I become a doctor that this gets worked out and patients dont have to be turned away.
