Why do most people go to college? The answer is to potentially have the chance to make more money. Back in the day all you really needed was any degree from college to get a decent paying job. A bachelor’s degree would have sufficed because not everyone went to college. So with a degree you proved you qualify for higher paying jobs. Now nearly everyone after high school goes to college, so to stand out you need a masters or PHD, which might be equivalent to a bachelors degree 30 years ago. I don’t really know if college got easier or harder from thirty years ago, but the “idea” of college, or concept is definitely more challenging in today’s times.
