Team B

Life is full of ups and downs and twists and turns. It is those "rough times", however, that make us who we are. They build us up, add character, bring us spirit, and give us the will to move on. As a college student, we have all been exposed to these times; everything from financial problems to tragic deaths. Without them, we would not be as strong as we are today.

Wait...Dont Jump!!!The rate of suicide in America has been growing at a scary rate. People who cant support their families are feeling more pressure than ever and choosing death over life. Students who are overloaded with work and have the stress of a relationship on their back are feeling the pressure too. Its a tough subject to debate but just stay calm and remember, problems are temporary and death is permanent.

It seems that these days, the "unbrella" of health care is getting smaller and smaller. Not only are fewer people getting good health care, the price of being covered is growing at an incredible rate. Being a student and a parent of a government worker, I am fortunate enough to have good coverage. But what about those people who arent under the unbrella? Thousands of deaths happen each year from this issue alone and it is only getting worse. We must remember that the key to life is being healthy so we have to stick together and stretch that unbrella to cover the entire world.

Poor Gardeners...They must have skipped college and followed their dreams of being worldclass landscapers. Well, for the other people who are going to school, lets leave these jobs behind. Forget about Homedepot and McDonalds, there will plenty of people to fill in those jobs. For us here at Stony Brook, lets not end up like these 2 sad people. Lets leave these pink colar jobs and enter the world of professionalism. It a wonderful place full of opportunity and happiness and the chance to make your dreams come true! Lets get rid of student debt and show America that we can handle responsibility. Lets prove them all wrong.

Poem

There is a group of people that decided to get together by blogging to prevent suicide. This was a poem I found on the website. I thought I share it with you guys.

I could see it getting to you like it got to me.
The same symptoms we displayed on that tragic day of amnesty.
You were still full of life, still playing your part,I was a broken record with a dying heart.
How it passed, like a disease is still a mystery unknown.
Just know that passing the sickness was the final blow for me.
I simply couldn’t let you go,when for the first time I matched;the same hysteria and unsalvageable mind,my insanity craved company and you filled that hole comfortably.
We were meant to be,meant to coexist and then die happily. And don’t worry, I’ll forgive you.
No one can blame your cowardice as I pulled us to our watery end.
The world will still know,of our heroic act of bravery.
We were too happy to be suicidal, and too philosophical to live within the boundaries of a conforming society When will you see?
That too break free,we had to become more than just we.

I have never imagine committing suicide, but than again I never loved someone like this person has loved someone, and than I guess they lost this someone.

Team B

Standing at the cliffs of Dover,
Thoughtfully looking over,
To scale the rock,
Or jump and fall,
Either way, it's a long way down,
may as well let gravity do the work...
