Earl and Green
I haven’t had sex with my boyfriend since Tuesday.
I met him about month and a half ago. I can’t remember. I’m horrible with remembering these sorts of things. At first I wasn’t sure if I’d like him. He had the classically good-looks and was charming. He was very royal as well, coming from England and all. He was popular with the ladies and even men.
Of all the men there, he was the one that was always surrounded by the girls. What a chick magnet.
He caught me eye. We flirted. But that was it. I didn’t want to spend money. Relationships make you fat and poor. True story.
But I craved him. I wanted to see him again and to get more from him.
And so I went and saw him the next time. I don’t know when. I forgot what time it was. I don’t even know who I was with.
Every time I went to go see him, it was great sex. It was passionate. It was satisfying. Afterwards, I leave. I ain’t stayin’ for no cuddlin’ nor small chit-chat, bitch. I get paid to talk at work. So I ain’t talking to you.
Anyway…
I’ve been loyal for the last 7+ (I can’t remember how many times I’ve gone to see him) times we met. But a few weeks ago this one other guy, let’s call him Green, and I started flirting. I noticed him the first day I met Earl but Earl was much more attractive at the time. Green was annoying. He was everywhere. And a bit too stoic. Earl had the personality.
But then Earl and I had a fight. I was seeing him too much. I didn’t like that so I stopped. He didn’t like that so we argued.
The next time I was on my way to see Earl, Green and I bumped into each other. We ended up making out.
It was nice.
But I continued on to Earl where I knew I’d definitely be satisfied. This time, there was no talking involved at all. I didn’t even have to pay.
The next and last time was the next day, Tuesday. It was a lazy, rainy-weather day. I was bored. I had just finished eating lunch and decided I needed some satisfaction so I went to his place, did the deed, and left shortly afterwards.
I broke up with him that day. The relationship was draining me… draining me of my money and of my health. The more I spent time with Earl, the more weight I felt like I was gaining. The more time I spent with him, the less money I had.
Green was the same. He was refreshing. He was somewhat different from Earl though. But in the end, the men are all the same. They fatten you up and rob you of your money.
And so, I’m taking a break.
Note: Earl is Earl Grey ice cream from Coldstone and Green is Green Tea. My friends and I joked about it saying that to some girls, having ice cream is like having sex to guys.

coffee (written for a friend's book)
I love coffee. I need it every fucking morning. The smell wakes me up. Don’t even get me started on a day without coffee. There is no day without coffee. As a child, my mom didn’t stop me from drinking ice coffee. I probably drank more ice coffee than milk. Hence, which is why I’m so short. I blame it on that. Without coffee, I’m so cranky, angry, and not awake. I worked at Starbucks for 2 years. It’s always been a dream of mine to be a barista. The hot bar and I made love every day. I miss working at Starbucks. Not the customers, but making the drinks. The customers are fucking annoying. They’re just annoying people who want their coffee.. like me. Iced Venti, 2 shots of espresso, 3 pumps of mocha, light ice, ice coffee. Twice a day. Best part of summer. If I had time, I’d go to Starbucks in the morning too, then once during lunch break, and once after work. Definitely not that shitty coffee from Dunkin Donuts that tastes like burnt water. The only reason why people like the taste of Dunkin Donuts coffee is because they load it up with so much fuckin sugar that they can’t taste the coffee anymore. Speaking of which, I need my mother fuckin’ coffee.
passion
That first kiss feeling is exhilarating. The second, moreso. And on and on until you get to the fiftieth, the thousandth.. you feel the same lips, the same touch, the same look. A different look. Of despair, of complacency, of expected desire … what are you to do? Roam about, learn a new book, fantasize that spring-fresh feeling from years and autumns ago, when all was newly golden and churning butterflies into the wind? You feel the ripple of touch on your skin, the electric feel pricks up the hairs on your arms, the invisible ones along your back, your senses become alive like sparks of lightning, waiting for the storm to catch up. But time catches up. The ripples stay the same, the sparks dim, and lights lower. You surround yourself in a yellow glow, a bathe that consumes you, screams and threatens to keep you down, to quiet you into a lull of sleep and melancholy being.
In the dark, in the quiet, in the folds of blankets, ladies close their eyes. The sense of sight is nowhere near as far as the sense of touch. Every prickle, every glide of another human being, every line of every fingertip can be felt.
Closure. Impossible after remembering. Not that it ever comes. People are cowards and flakes. Who’s to trust? Not I, certainly. Not you, so quiet. I want you loud. Screaming out the top of your lungs, yelling, pulling, laughing maniacally, taking over and crying out, “For fuck’s sake!”
Always the same thoughts. My ears are burning red. I want your passion.

Insomnia
On a typical day, my morning begins at 7:45am as I fight with the snooze button on two separate alarms clocks, struggling to get up. I have never been a “morning person”. Even in elementary school I fought with my body to get up on time for class, let alone catching the bus. The problem resides in my insomnia. I stay up all night, every night. I've tried to set schedules for myself to be in bed by midnight, even 1:00am to be nice, but I could never fall asleep. I feel that from years of this sleep pattern, I've conditioned my body to function at odd hours.
As a kid, I remember always having one of my parents drive me to school because I would miss the bus. Even so, I would still show up to class late. If there was an award for most lateneses, I would be the crown winner of it consecutively. This doesn't make me always a late person. It's just mornings that I can't do. Going out at night, I'm ready in a jiffy, waiting on others. I don't mind the wait, I make other people wait up hours for me because I can't function properly in the morning.
I've been really trying to fix my sleep schedule lately. Taking uni-some to actually sleep early, along with melatonin for deeper sleep. I don't think it's quite working out though. I still have trouble sleeping and waking up...

EDM 2
After the breakup with Paul I fell into a bit of a depression, as I felt disconnected from all my friends. I realized I grew apart and had little in common with many of my friends. I decided to reconnect with childhood friends I long lost touch with. I started talking to an old friend from middle school who started asking me about my interest in EDM after he heard my ringtone go off, which at the time was a clip of Deadmau5's “Hi Friend”. He told me of a concert he was going to attend at Webster Hall of his favorite DJ, Skrillex. I knew one track from him, which I did enjoy. I immediately downloaded more tracks from Skrillex and instantly fell in love. At my job, at the time, I had gone to Youtube and started listening to a Skrillex track. A co-worker heard it and exclaimed in excitement that he was one of her favs. I ended up going to that Skrillex show and something inside me changed.
There was something about the crowd, the energy, the environment that sucked me into a new obsession. That same friend from middle school randomly asks me if I would want to go to Ultra Music Festival in Miami. I laughed at first, thinking a trip to Miami for a music festival in March would be unfeasible and ridiculous. I looked into UMF and learned that it was one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the US, with people flying in from not only all over the US, but from worldwide. I looked at the lineup and found many foreign DJ's I liked. I started shuffling through all the DJs I didn't know and my desire to attend UMF grew exponentially. Talking to people about it, it was one of those things everyone wanted to go to, but distance, money and school got in the way.
Somehow, after continuing to look into UMF and discussing with Gio (friend from middle school) along with coworkers, a solid group of willing individuals emerged. This ended up becoming the most random group of friends and acquaintances, who now share a special bond. We've got an exciting summer ahead of us with a list of shows to hit up :)

EDM
I feel like a new person since I've engulfed my life with EDM. I mean, I've been into electronic music for over three years now; when Hite started making mixed CDs for Paul. It started randomly, Paul asking Hite for a CD for the car. The first CD was listened to on repeat until the disc started skipping. He followed through with a set of five-discs starting with Vocal Trance, Non-Vocal Trance, Melodic Dirty, Simply Dirty and finally, Filthy Dirty. He burned us a copy of Infected Mushroom's Supervisor CD, which would become my first taste into PsyTrance. Within the next couple months, I would discuss with Hite the tracks I liked, as he didn't really provide track names for anything. He copied a data CD with Deadmau5's early music, which I instantly fell in love with. My love for rock, punk, ska and acoustic music was quickly replaced by House. Partially due to Hite's laziness to make mixes, and my constant desire for new music resulted in him handing me his entire harddrive with all his music. Without a second thought or sorting through it, I copied all 60GB+ of tracks he's spent years collecting. To this day, I still have yet to thoroughly go through all the songs.
The following two years or so was spent shuffling through Hite's collection discovering DJ's I liked and favoriting random tracks I enjoyed. Though, truth be told, I did listen to the same DJ's the majority of the time, ignoring the rest of his collection. My taste within EDM would change as I was shy of the Dirtier tracks at first. Funny to think that I probably would've hated Dubstep three years ago. I also didn't listen to music often at that time. I wasn't a fan of plugging into my iPod when I was up and about; and chose not to listen to music much at home because the boyfriend preferred quiet or a show to be on TV instead. He was also a bigger fan of rap and hip-hop, so we chose to keep music to a minimal (basically only in the car).
Initially, I found it hard to discover DJ's I enjoyed because of the overabundance of choices and being overwhelmed in all the different types of EDM. Hence why I depended solely on Hite's collection. I started venturing off in my own discovery while downloading albums and live sets from the DJ's I already knew I enjoyed. Finding similar artists this way along with discovering remixes of tracks I already knew I liked done by different DJ's was the start of my adventure.

Fat Peopl
Fat people drive me insane. There's so many of them. Goddamn fat people everywhere. They get in the way in every possible way. How? you ask. They're slow. If I'm in a rush, there's a horde of fat people walddling their slow asses creating a blockade. And if I squeeze through them, they look at me like I'm the rude one who is being inconsiderate. Excuse me? NO. It's your fat ass that's a nuissance to everyone else.
Then. They dare sit in the subway and take up TWO WHOLE SPACES. Each of their asscheeks divided perfected between the two seats. And it appalls me when they don't give up their two seats for pregnant women, crippled individuals or children. They're fat, selfish and lazy.
When I worked as a barista at Starbucks, I wanted to laugh in the face of all the fat people that would order a "Venti, extra whipped cream, java chip frappaccinno with caramel drizzle". The best if when they would ask for it in "light". A LIGHT frappaccinno with EXTRA Whipped Cream? Really, man? REALLY? To be honest, if they asked for it in "light" with extra whipped cream, I never even bothered making it "light". They weren't ordering it for health reasons; they're ordering it to make their lazy fat asses feel better about being disgusting and fat.
And me, I'm petite. People all point at me and tell me how envious they are of my slender figure. Envious, they say. Well, it doesn't come naturally. My striated shoulders, the division of biceps and visible traps, the middle line down the abs... This was all years of weight training and proper dieting. I was a bit chubby once. Then I looked in the mirror and was disgusted by what I saw. I worked hard for my figure. And how do I get rewarded? By a lack of afforable clothing options. Why? Because the standard of more and more fat people have lead to companies making their sizes wider and wider every year. Lately the only stores I've been able to shop in are higher class fashion stores; currently shopping mostly at Bebe. So by being skinny, I have to suffer for all the fat people's size. Which is strange when you consider, THEY USE UP MORE FABRIC THAN I DO. TWICE AS MUCH. Maybe even three times as much fabric. So why am I paying more?
And I hate, hate, HATE fat people that complain about being fat, when they do nothing to change it. "OH, I went to the gym and walked 2 miles today. Therefore, I will reward myself with a pepperoni pizza, large coke and a bag of chips". Are you kidding me?! Or "dieting" and ordering a salad, but putting on excessive amounts of dressing, making a salad bowl over 1000 calories. It's sickening and disgusting.

Tipping
I've never worked a job for tips but I can imagine the aggrivation that can come from it. Sure, as a Starbucks barista we got tips, but it wasn't a tip based job such as being a waiter, delivery runner or driver. Service is key. Presentation is important. You have to make your customer believe you care about their business. I'm sure the act gets tiring. Trying to please multiple tables of guests, giving each enough attention without being overbearing. And many times, it's customers you'll never see again, so you have one chance to impress them for a good tip.
But when it comes to becoming a regular at a place, I find tipping to be essential. You want that bartender to know your drink and give you priority over other customers? Tip him well. You want your pizza to arrive fresh hot out of the oven? Tip the driver well and he will make stops to your house first.
Generally, here's what I do. Bad service, minimal tip of 10-15%: give or take double the tax. Average service, round tax up to whole number, double it, and then add change to make bill's total into a whole number, which comes out to 16-20%. Great service, you will be rewarded nicely by 20+% tip. A lot of my friends look at me with displeasure when I leave the final tip, often pulling extra money from my own wallet. They say it's unneccessarry and I'm being overly generous. I get pissed off at my cheap friends who find it unnecesarry to tip devlivery drivers for Chinese or Pizza places that advertise "no delivery charge". Right. They're not charging for delivery, but you should tip the driver instead.
Service changes if you tip well. Tip well and be polite. In the end, they hook you up with priority, discounts, free desserts or appetizers, drinks on the house... And when you get hooked up with these extra goodies, it puts you in a better mood. And being in a better mood, makes you nicer to the server. It's a circle of niceness that benefits all parties.

Smile
Try this, even if just as a social experiment. Smile, often, if not all day. Proven fact, people will treat you nicer if you give them a smile and speak politely.
Case 1: I take the subway every morning to work at the same time. So I usually see the same two conductors in the middle part of the subway where I get on. As they always poke their head out, I always smile and say "good morning". No one else around me does. And there's conductors that give you a cold shoulder anyway. But point being, the two conductors I see in the mornings have learned to recognize me. One wishes me a "good morning, hun" happily. And there have been occasions where I'm running late, and arrive at the turnstyle as the subways doors have closed. The train should depart. But the conductor will see me and gladly open the doors up for me again with a joke, "almost left without you!".
Case 2: I go to the same Deli in the mornings before work for a chocolate croissant. It's become routine. I walk in, and they know I'll be getting myself a chocolate croissant. One day, one of the guys asked me if I'd like the croissant heated up, because the melted choclate makes it so much better. And indeed it was much better! I thanked him the next day for it, and since then, I walk into the deli and I get asked, "toasted?" as they pull the croissant out of the display. If there's a line and I'm in a rush, they happily bag my croissant and hand it to me as I leave $2 on the counter (the croissant's $1.75). No hassel, we're all happy. And why? because I smile and politely greet and thank them.
Case 3: Go to Aldo to shoe shop. A sales guy comes up to me immediately and asks if I need help. I tell him cheerfully, "uhm, no, I'm just looking around for now. I'll let you know if I need a size". He walks away. I browse the store to find two pairs of heels I want to try on. Instead of finding the nearest sales associate, I spot the same guy who had greeted me to let him know which shoes I was interested in. Include the "please," "thank you's" and some eye contact and they will gladly service you. They don't have the size in the shoes I'm interested in, but the associate will go out of their way to find similar shoes in my size instead. They will go that extra mile if you're nice. Another case and point, I've gotten sales associates to open up a register for me, then proceed to give me extra discounts (yes, I've gotten employee discounts). Starting up small conversations helps too. Comment on their cute shoes or necklace. If you take your time out to notice someone else, they will, maybe even subconsciously, treat you better.
Lesson of the story? I really feel that a lot of people are forgetting their manners today. And not to say everyone is rude, because that's not the case. People are very much distant from one another and choose to be very "to themselves" and minding their own business. A simple hello and have a good day makes a difference to the person serving you or even someone you're sharing an elevator with.

Nail Biters
It's one of my biggest pet peeves: nail biters. The thought of the sheer number of things you touch with your hands in between washing them should be enough to prevent someone from putting their fingers in their mouths. But it's actually quite appaling the number of people I count on a daily basis chewing away at their nails. This pet peeve didn't bother me as much until I moved into the city. I practically sanitize my hands the second I get out of the subways now. Everywhere you look, every inch of the city is covered in grime and bacteria. The thousands of people that commute on the subway daily, everyone touching the same metal bars to harness themselves. The thought that thousands of people touch the same metal pole, we're constantly transmitting germs from one another, all throughout the city.
Then you put the city's worth of germs in your mouth WILLINGLY. Agh, gross. Just think about how unsanitary money is. We all touch it, hand it off to one another for years. And money never gets cleaned or sanitized... It just gets dirtier and dirtier. I hope you all think twice about putting those dirty hands into your mouth now. Just think about putting that dirtyass dollar bill in your mouth next time you start to nibble at your nails.
And the fact that so many people fail to wash their hands after using a public restroom absolutely baffles me. IT'S GROSS. You don't know who used the facilities before you. And there's so many homeless bums in the city that haven't showered in who knows how long who sit their buns on that very toilet seat you perched up on. So in a way, those dirty hands with possibly bits of urine residue touches the subway bars, that you later touch, then put in your mouth... You could be enjoying some tasy homeless urine. All to support your nail biting habits. Is it worth it? please tell me. Is homeless urine worth biting your nails for?
Then you put the city's worth of germs in your mouth WILLINGLY. Agh, gross. Just think about how unsanitary money is. We all touch it, hand it off to one another for years. And money never gets cleaned or sanitized... It just gets dirtier and dirtier. I hope you all think twice about putting those dirty hands into your mouth now. Just think about putting that dirtyass dollar bill in your mouth next time you start to nibble at your nails.

I often lie and say I'm in a relationship when I'm not. And if it's one thing you should know about me, is I rarely lie. I'm a horrible liar, mostly because I don't care enough to come up with an elaborate lie and remember all the details. Being honest is just way easier. And I'm sure it's a bad first impression guys get of me when the first detail about my personal life is a lie. But there's a reason to this lie, that I personally find justifiable.
The majority of my friends are guys. It's always been this way. The problem with this though, is sexual desires and emotions get in the way. Usually on their part towards me, and it ruins a perfectly good friendship. Some of these friendships takes years to build up, and they get destroyed overnight by stupid emotions and selfish desires. However, when I actually was in a relationship for the past three years, and met new people, I realized the tension, mood and attitude changed drastically. They're not trying to get in my pants, instead, respecting that I was already someone else's. Some great friendships were made because I met these guys while I was in a relationship. Which is why now, despite being single, I like to tell guys that I am in a relationship. If they stop talking to me immediately, then it's clear what their intensions are. If we continue to talk and hang out, become friends, then I'll tell him the truth.
The response I get is always the same. Confusion and curiosity. I tell them why I lied, and they understand. I've had a number of the guys tell me it was a smart move on my part as they would've approached me differently had that one fact been different. They would've tried harder to impress and put up a fake front, instead of just being themselves. So yes. It's one thing I constantly lie about. But I honestly think it's a white lie that turns out for the better for both parties in the end.

Over the summer I've decided to set up either a Media Server or Media Extender! My sis's boyfriend will be moving in, and then they will be buying a 50" HDTV for the living room. I'm buying a PS3 sometime before September, which will give me Netflix access to the TV, along with Blu-ray capabilities :) And my PC has close to 2TB of movies on shows... So, I'm going to set up a system to access all my movies and shows from the living room TV. I could buy a Media Extender that would let me stream files from my PC to the TV. Or I could set up a dedicated Media Server that would give me the ability to access my files from everywhere! Which would come in handy a lot of times when I want to watch something I know I have when I'm at a friend's and we can't because we can't find a streaming copy of it or download it in a reasonable amount of time. This however, would require a monthly fee of running a server. But if I set up a server, I could also host my own portfolio website, once I get it up and running, instead of hosting it on a friend's server. The third option is hardwiring my PC to the TV (DVI to HDMI) and using the TV as an extended monitor. This is only annoying because it forces me to use the mouse and keyboard to control everything. Also, the fact that it'll be in two different rooms may cause an issue with ease of use. But this is the cheapest option, that doesn't require anything to stream, meaning bandwidth or connectivity would never be an issue. It's the most reliable, considering Time Warner at my sister's apt seriously sucks. Which reminds me, I'm thinking of forcing her to cancel Time Warner and switch to Verizon FiOS. Neither of us are fans of Verizon's customer support, but their products and services are reliable for the most part. I mean, when it comes down to it, once I have a PS3, I could easily copy files I want to watch onto a flash drive and plug it into the PS3 to watch, no need to connect anything more.
Gooooooodddbyyyeeeee, Windows!
I've gotten completely fed up with Windows. I've been using Windows XP on my netbook, and it's been alright. I do like some features of Windows 7, but just for the fact that it's Windows, drives me insane. Actually, the only feature I like about 7 is the automatically resizing of windows when you drag it to the left, right or top. I've been using Divvy for Mac which does the same thing except with keyboard shortcuts. Apparently there's a pay app that just came out for Mac that does the same thing as Windows 7.
I'm primarily a Mac user. I do like the operating system, I admit. It's well constructed, visually enticing, bold yet classic, ease of use... The whole Operating system is just better constructed overall. They don't crash as easily as Windows do. So yes, Thank You, Apple, for making a wonderful OS. You're prices are shit though. The film industry forces us to use Apples, which is a bit annoying. I've built myself a hackintosh, aka: building a PC and loading it with OSX. Technically, it's not really legal. But I got myself a computer Apple would charge $3500, for only $1300 (and that's including a 24" monitor) So yeah, I'd say I'm pretty happy with my computer.
Getting back to netbook. Just the goddamn Windows Updates, and OS that will always start to lag no matter how clean you keep the system just annoys me. I'm finally going back to my beloved Linux. I love open-source. I love being in control of my OS's functionalities. It's been too long that i've strayed away from Linux, and I could not be happier to be going back. Finally my life doesn't require me to ever have to use Windows again, with the exception of fixing Dad's computer that he constantly crashes. Currently downloading Ubuntu; then loading it onto a bootable USB drive; back up the little data I have here currently; and hello, Ubuntu netbook :)

Update on Consumerism
Wow, so after discussing my MP3 player purchase with a number of people and then reading up on reviews online, I think I may not go Apple at all. Now, I'm not a big fan of Apple. I find their products overpriced for the hardware. This is because I've been building computers since I was a kid, and making a beast computer for the money is my specialty. However, my industry of choice in film forces me to be engulfed in a sea of Macs. Final Cut Pro has become the choice editing software along with every other Mac-oriented audio and visual software. I've owned an iPod Touch for nearly three years and LOVE it. I am not a fan of iTunes, but use it anyway. And the only reason I started using it was because of the neccessity with the iPod Touch.
Now, I've known that Sansa made small MP3 players. One of my best friends owns one. I just didn't care to even look into it. But reviews are saying it's reliable, good battery life and better sound quality(!) And with an expandable Micro SD slot.... HELLO, 32+GB of added space. And it's much cheaper. So now I'm leaning towards the Clip or the Fuze.... Both priced around $30-60 +$60 for a 32GB card. I have grown accustomed to the iTouch's touch screen though, and it's ease of use... This makes the decision so hard.
I think I may have to borrow my friend's Sansa Clip for a bit to test it out, and hang out in an Apple store playing with the Nano. Oh, decisions, decisions....

I'm A Consumer Whore
Hey! Dilemma! Currently have a 2nd gen 8GB iTouch, that I almost exclusively use for music. Occasionally I’ll put a few episodes of HIMYM on it when I know I’m going to need visual entertainment. I use the internet on it out of convenience when I don’t feel like getting my netbook or PC. I’ll be getting a smart phone (FINALLY, I’VE MISSED HAVING ONE SO MUCH) in a week or two, pending on the release date of the Samsung Droid Charge. Which means I’ll no longer depend on the Touch for internet whatsoever. I COULD then use the Touch as gaming device since it’s jailbroken and I have Gameboy and SNES emulators on it (but I know in a year or two once this whole Tablet processor war gets sorted out, I’ll be getting myself a tablet as netbook replacement/gaming device). Or I could give the Touch to my sister, who’s been eyeing it for quite some time. Also, the Touch is the last thing I have from my ex, which makes me want to get rid of it all together. At the same time, i’ve grown so accustomed to it, since it’s been a part of me for close to three years.
So. The question is, do i just throw $50 to get a cheap Shuffle or spend $180 to get a Nano? For $50 I get a mere 2GB, which is joke to me. I change my music on the Touch every other week because I have so much music to go through, along with music ADD. Also, majority of my music is downloaded at 320kbps, and I won’t lessen the quality to 192 just to get more songs. So 2GB makes me a little nervous. Also, the lack of screen means I can’t pick what song I want to listen to, which may drive me a little nuts. But I mean, it’s just for my work outs, right….?
BUT. If i spend $180 on a Nano, I’d be getting a nice 16GB of memory. And it has a screen, so i can pick my tracks. 16GB of space is twice as much as my Touch, so it’ll completely replace my need for the Touch (as opposed to the Shuffle, which I would still want to keep my Touch as my main music device).
IDEALLY, I want Apple to bring back the 3rd Generation Nano shape (the square one with screen and wheel) and crank it up to 16GB. Rumor of 7th Generation Nano that’s due in September seems to be the same as the current Nano plus a fucking camera, which I deem very useless. :( Anyone want to sell me their old 3rd Gen 8GB Nano?
Okay, fine; not going to lie. I’m leaning towards spending the extra money for the 16GB Nano, I just need someone to agree.

So. My hula hoops I ordered came in two weeks ago. Practiced for the most part everyday for just a quick 15-minutes for the first week. Mostly when i get home from work and when I have to go between my room and the kitchen and decide to pick it up for a few minutes. It’s fun, and challenging. I’ve learned to hoop on the hips, and how to control it from waist down to hips and then bringing it up to the chest without hands within the first three days. I could not hoop on the chest/torso for the life of me the first week. Then, I figured out how to bring it up and do like two loops, but couldn’t keep the momentum going. A day later, got the momentum down :)
And now, I've managed to bruise my middle finger today. How? Flippin’ too many bitches off. No, not really. Decided to hoop for 1.5hours and messed up a transition; tried to catch the hoop and somehow my finger got the damage. Haha, I have no idea. But felt great listening to an Essential Mix from Laidback Luke and dancing my buns off. Progress today: improved control of position of hoop around upper thigh to under the pits :) Also playing around with bumping right shoulder in from neck-hooping. Not so fly on the left side yet… Then comes bringing arms down and finally being able to hoop around body & arms. Definitely boogied out to the music moving about the empty space of the living room today, considering it was a long session. Oh, also playing around with angling the hoop. Fun stuff~
Gotta keep working on transitions and hand tricks too (this is limited as i don’t have much space to work in atm). I’m making progress! I’m sure I still look silly hooping; but getting the moves down is the hard part anyway! Once i get things down, hello, non-stop dance-hooping!

maturing and developing relationships
My sister and I have had an interesting history. We have an eight year age difference which has always set us in very different times of our lives growing up. This resulted in lots of fights and never getting along through all my childhood. When I was an angsty, rebellious teenager she was in college or have graduated and had matured. We were always at different mentalities and developing a relationship was impossible.
On the contrary though, my brother and I who are eleven years apart got along great. He was my best friend and his leaving for college was one of the most devastating events of my life. I couldn’t be happier when my sister went away to college. It was never one of those sibling relationships where you knew the other had your back. Instead, we had to watch out for each other.
I guess because of the fact I’ve grown up, we are able to get along now and live in harmony. Age and maturity changes a relationship. We’re able to not only live together without fighting and arguing, we actually choose to spend time together. We chit chat about events and what we did last night and work. I’m able to open up to her about concerns. Our going to the gym together and cooking for one another helps as well. We have different lives and varying interests. Heck, we refuse to even be friends with each other on Facebook because we like our lives separate. We’ve come to terms that there’s not need for us to share all the details of our lives with each other. And I think it’s turned into a great relationship.
