The carrying capacity of the planet refers to the population size of all non living things, and also all living species that can sustain life on earth with earth’s limited supply of food, water, and space. Some other criteria in addition to food that we might use as a basis for estimating the carrying capacity of the planet would be the population of humans on earth. İ am using human as an example because we are an important factor in the carrying capacity of the earth and also a determining factor in how the we our selves treat the earth. Also we know that human population every year is increasing by 1.7%, which means that in 42 years the human population would double. This means that if the human population doubles, that means twice more natural resources would be used, twice more waste would be accumulated on earth. At the rate that the earth will be going the human population will14 billion people on earth. I do not think that a single resource, like food, can provide a good estimate because food is not the only resource the species need to survive. There are many resources that we are forgetiing suc as water intake, oil, limited space, and also man made things on this earth. Humans would be a better resource because we are the ones that have effect on anything that happens on this earth, also as you can see the human population every year grows by 1.7% which means the more things are going to be used, more waste created, more food and water intake.
