Technology Ruins

I've noticed that more often than not, my friends are more interested in their text message conversations than talking to me. Although, I admit that I’ve been found guilty of this same crime, isn’t it sad that we’d rather have a conversation with somebody through texting rather than the people we’re currently with? After all, not only is it rude that the person that you’re trying to talk to is staring down at their mobile devices and typing away, but it’s terribly inconsiderate. While I’m trying to talk to this person, he/she is distracted by the influx of text messages, and it’s like I’m in a constant competition with their cell phone. Undoubtedly, electronics and technology has affected us as a society and has weaved its way into the very fabric of our lives. Despite technology’s ability to help us become more “connected”, I can’t help but feel that as a result, we’ve also grown further apart.

For one, our daily interactions with others have become limited, since nowadays we can just instant message, email, call, or text. There’s almost little to no need to make real physical contact anymore, because information and data can be easily exchanged over the internet. Technology has taken over every single aspect of our lives because it’s integrated into every little task we do. For example, papers are commonly typed on computers, research is frequently done over the internet, and shopping is made convenient online. How many areas of our lives still remain untouched by technology?

Technology

Its amazing how far technology has come. This is a photo from the digital camera my boyfriend bought me, and honestly, I love the clarity I get from it. Even looking at this picture, you see the texture, the stitching, and it's insane! Camera's used to be just to capture the general quality, not the little details. My boyfriends a photographer and I love the kicks he gets from the new cameras that come out all the time.

ATT Commercial

This commercial made me think about how important new technology is for the future. It shows how innovation meets the needs of every day people and how it improves people's lives.

Last Blog

This technology class has been fun. I've learned a lot. Before this class, I used paint occasionally. Now, I can use not only photoshop, but Sketchup and ComicLife and various other online publications.

I love writing but I had never thought of doing a blog. It is a good way to put my thoughts out there.

The problem is that there are so many blogs already in existence. Having an account for something is simple. It is having people read your work (or view it) that is the challenge.

Over the summer, I want to create more outlets online. I want to continue to film videos with my friend and start creating even more things. Well, I'm off to my last ACH 102 technology class.

Technology

The masked woman and the technological man, oblivious behind the screen: welcome to the 21st century. Woman use technology as a mask and men use technology to hide themselves. All the expansions in technology are really allowing society to revert back; instead of branching out and "connecting", we are adding more wireless walls.

Technology is great for networking. With one simple "like", you can create instantaneous rapport. Likes lead to comments and comments can lead to a conversation (via Facebook chat, of course). However, it's easy to use Facebook as a shield. With the graphics and the links, it's easy to become absorbed in an online persona and forget how to socialize without the standard, yet passive pokes. People often avoid talking to their new crush in class and instead, add them as a "friend" online.

In this class, we're learning all about marketing ourselves. As a requirement, we are connected on online sites--we're all linked together on this blog site and we all have YouTube and so many other sites. But it hasn't made me feel closer to any of the people in my class.

Tablet pcs the new laptop?

With the emergence of the iPad last year there are now more and more tablet pcs being made. I feel like every week I'm hearing about a new tablet pc by another company that's supposed to be better than the last. Apple has already been working on their second iPad which is going to have a camera on the front and back. In my opinion, no company is going to be able to beat out apple's ipad for the pure reason of all the apps that apple has to offer.

The apps that are available with the ipad is what truly makes it amazing. I may be a little biased because I own an iPad myself but it really is an amazing piece of technology. What's really crazy is how the technology in tablet pcs is only getting better and at a very fast rate. This leads to the question will tablet pcs replace the laptop? Desktop computers have become more uncommon because of the ease of laptops and their mobility. Now tablet pcs are here which perform the same functions as a laptop but with the utmost mobility.

So if people purchase a laptop over a desktop because the compact size and mobility, will people act the same way with iPads and laptops? When people go to the store to buy a new laptop and see a tablet pc next to it for around the same price which will they choose? Only time will tell but in the near future I see a lot more people using tablet pcs instead of laptops.
