Relient K's "Forget and Not Slow Down" is definitely a departure from their previous albums. Containing minimal spiritual messages, Relient K, usually known as a Christian band, presents an album that follows the emotional and mental processes of a hard break up. The album's overall theme comes from the failure of the lead singer's engagement. The title track tells of his struggle to move on with life after his fiance. The songs range from songs of adoration towards her, to rationalizing the decision to leave her, and finally to accepting the whole situation.
Musically, the album is one of their best. Adopting a new and more contemporary style sounds good on Relient K.
Overall, this album is definitely worth a listen.
